One of the most important piece in our wardrobe is a great pair of trousers. Do you have a hard time finding the shape, size or fit that suits you?
During this four week course we will sew a comfortable, classic pair of trousers based on your custom sewing pattern, which you will be able to use to make many other pieces at home.
We will learn to take measurements and select the right style for your body shape and style. We will get a custom sewing pattern printed, and create a toile, or test garment to check for accurate fitting. Suitable fabrics will be discussed in class and you may purchase your fabric through Stitch Budapest.
In this course you will learn:
- how to use sewing patterns
- learn to sew darts or pleats, pockets
- attach a zipper, and
- how to construct a waistband
- hem and finish the garment
The course starts on Sunday, February 14th, from 9 AM to 12 PM. The following classes are on February 21st, 28th, and March 7th.
Sewing tools, including the sewing machine, as well as a digital sewing pattern made to your individual size will be provided, but you must purchase the fabric and matching thread individually. You will receive more information about this by e-mail. Sample fabrics will be reviewed on the first day.
Course fee is 33 000 HUF for the 12-hour course.
Your instructor is Zsuzsi Víg, the founder of Stitch Budapest, a fashion industry specialist, a Fashion Institute of Technology graduate.
